Patience Songs for Kids: Six Songs About Waiting
Waiting is one of the hardest things a young child does all day. These six MoMo Star TV songs are all about it — four of them say “patience song” right on the cover — and each one fits a different kind of wait: for pickup, for something to happen, for a surprise, or for a long day to pass.

All six, shortest first
Shortest song first, so you can stop after one for a short wait or keep going for a long one.
Momo Waits Until Three
Waiting for pickup. Momo is dropped off at preschool, and the promise on the cover is “Three o’clock. I’ll be right here.” For the long stretch between goodbye and pickup.
Panda Carries The Lantern
Going slowly, staying calm. Panda carries a lantern along a muddy path on a stormy night, with Momo and Bunny close beside. Its cover says it plainly: patience, staying calm, slow and steady.
Everybody Waits, Their Own Way
Waiting for something good. A wrapped present and a note: “Special surprise soon!” The cover’s message is that everybody waits in a different way — and all of the ways are right.
Momo Waits and Sees
Waiting to see what happens. Momo watches an ice cube melt on a sunny windowsill — “I guess. (We’ll see.)” For a child who wants it to happen right now.
The Same Beat, Every Day
Patience as practice. Panda and Bunny drum on a log at dusk while Momo claps along — “Small beats make a big difference.” A patience song about staying steady and strong.
One Patient Day At a Time
The longest song for the longest waits. Retold from The Lion’s Whisker, a traditional Ethiopian tale. The cover’s line: “Be kind. Be patient. Good things grow.”
Using these songs while you wait
- Let the song be the timer. “When the song ends, it’s our turn” is easier for a young child to hold on to than “five more minutes”. Every song here is between 2 and 4 minutes long.
- Name the wait before you press play. “We’re waiting for the bus — let’s listen to Panda’s lantern song while we wait.” The song then belongs to that moment.
- Match the song to the wait. The four under three minutes fit a queue, a turn or a kettle boiling; save The Same Beat, Every Day and One Patient Day At a Time for a car ride or a long afternoon.
- Teachers: for circle time, listening games and movement breaks, see the preschool transition songs guide.
