A song set for parents and teachers
First Day of Preschool Songs: Drop-Off, Brave Feelings and Friendship
The first day of preschool is a big feeling wrapped in an ordinary morning. One MoMo Star TV song was made for exactly that day — the cover of Momo Waits Until Three reads “First Day of School · Separation Anxiety · Preschool” — and the songs around it cover the rest of the first weeks: feeling scared, joining in, helping a friend, sitting in the circle, and the big question, “when is pickup?”

The first day, song by song
In the order the morning happens. Only the first song is about the first day itself; the others are about the feelings and moments that come with it.
Momo Waits Until Three
Drop-off. Momo and Panda in a preschool cloakroom, under a clock at three o’clock. The sign on the wall says “You belong here”, and the promise is “Three o’clock. I’ll be right here.” Its cover marks it for ages 3–5.
Still A Little Scared
When it still feels scary. A feelings song about being braver together — “You’re not alone” and “Big feelings are okay.” The cover is a thunderstorm, not a classroom: it’s for the scared feeling, wherever it turns up.
Left Out
Joining in. Momo stands outside a chalk circle in the park while Panda and Bunny play ball. A feelings and friendship song about learning to join in.
I Won't Go Without You
Being a friend. Momo reaches out to help Panda on a grassy hilltop — a friendship and kindness song about helping a friend.
The Circle Of Brave
Circle time. The three friends sit on cushions in a circle around a glowing star. A bravery song about talking about feelings, with friendship and support.
Bunny Tells Time
“When is pickup?” Bunny points at a big clock face — a telling-time song about the big hand and the little hand. Useful for showing where the hands will be when it’s time to go home.
Ideas for the first weeks
- Start before the first day. Playing Momo Waits Until Three at home in the week before preschool lets the song — and its pickup promise — become familiar before the morning it matters.
- Borrow the song’s promise, and keep it. If pickup is at a set time, say it the way the song does: “Three o’clock. I’ll be right here.” Then be there.
- Use the clock song at home. Bunny Tells Time is about the big hand and the little hand; a toy clock set to pickup time turns “when?” into something a child can see.
- Teachers: the preschool transition and circle time guide has songs for waiting, listening games and movement breaks in the first weeks.
Questions parents and teachers ask
Is there a song about separation anxiety for preschoolers?
Yes: Momo Waits Until Three. Its cover names it — first day of school, separation anxiety, preschool, ages 3–5 — and its cover carries a pickup promise: “Three o’clock. I’ll be right here.” It’s a song, not a treatment: if worries at drop-off are intense or go on for weeks, your child’s teacher or pediatrician is the right person to talk to.
