About the fairy tale
The story was first published in 1837 by the poet Robert Southey, as “The Story of the Three Bears”. In his telling the visitor was an old woman with silver hair; the little girl was given the name Goldilocks in 1904, in Flora Annie Steel’s retelling. Source.
Try it together
Set out three bowls or cups and take turns being the taster: too hot, too cold, just right — the pretend play the cover suggests.
